Xing Miss R challenges Tesla Roadster. 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8s

Anonim

At a time when Tesla has not even started preparations to start production of its super-sports Roadster, but for which it already claims an acceleration capability from 0 to 100 km/h in no more than 1.9 seconds, behold, the candidates to beat this mark, begin, from now on, to profile themselves.

Starting with the Xing Mobility , an unknown Taiwanese maker of electric cars, whose inaugural model is a “rally-inspired super sports car” — capable of getting off the tarmac — 100% electric, which it named after Miss R . And that, guarantees the manufacturer, manages to be faster in acceleration than the (supposed) future reference among trams, Tesla Roadster.

One Megawatt of Power

After having assumed itself as a rival of Tesla last November, Xing Mobility now discloses, after carrying out the first tests, some more information about its future debut model.

Based on a modular platform for electric vehicles developed by the manufacturer itself, the Miss R stands out for also having a 52 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, capable of ensuring, according to Xing, one megawatt (!) of power — synonymous with 1360 hp!

With this base power, provided by four 350V engines, the manufacturer claims for its Miss R a capacity of acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in no more than 1.8 seconds, as well as 200 km/h in anything like 5.1s . Values that, in addition, surpass not only the mark promised by the Tesla Roadster, as they are around the 1.85 seconds announced by the European Rimac C_Two.

Interchangeable batteries in five minutes?

Among Xing's pretensions is the desire for the production model to have a battery-switching system, achievable in no more than five minutes — something that Tesla has considered but has already abandoned. Although, in this specific case, more aimed at competition.

Finally, as for the body design, the manufacturer guarantees that it is a temporary solution, and that it will be evolved in the future.

An (electric) commercial called “Mr. T"

Meanwhile, Xing Mobility is also developing a 100% electric light commercial, which it has nicknamed “Mr. T”, and which also has propulsion technology with batteries by modules. The Taiwanese company now hopes to enter into partnerships with other builders, in order to apply its solution to other models.
