The Bugatti Chiron was presented internationally in Portugal. It has been crossing the Alentejo plains at more than 300 km/h and has impressed the international media. The Chiron is a car of numbers, which impress both for its smallness and enormity. We break down some of these values:
6.5
The time, in seconds, that the Bugatti Chiron takes to reach 200 km/h. The 100 km/h is dispatched in less than 2.5 seconds. Reach 300? Only 13.6 seconds. The same time, or almost the same time as a 75hp Volkswagen Up takes to reach 100 km/h. Or a Porsche 718 Cayman S with 350 hp to reach 200!
7
The number of speeds for the Chiron DCT (dual clutch) transmission. It's the same unit as the Veyron, but has been beefed up to handle 1600 Nm of torque. Little thing…9
The time, in minutes, it takes to consume the 100 liters of petrol in the tank, if it is always full. The Veyron took 12 minutes. Progress? Not really…

10
A huge engine capable of producing even greater numbers. To keep it working without “melting” 10 radiators with different purposes are needed.16
The number of engine cylinders, arranged in W, with 8.0 liters of capacity, to which 4 turbos are added – two small and two large – operating sequentially. At low revs only the two smaller turbos are in operation. Only from 3800 rpm do the biggest turbos come into action.
22.5
The official average consumption in liters per 100 km. In cities this value rises to 35.2 and outside it is 15.2. The official numbers are homologated according to the permissive NEDC cycle, so the reality must be less contained.30
The number of prototypes built during Bugatti Chiron development. Among the 30, 500 thousand kilometers were covered.
64
The typical Bugatti customer has, on average, 64 cars. And three helicopters, three jet planes and a yacht! The Chirons destined for them will travel, on average, 2500 km per year.420
It is the electronically limited top speed. The Veyron Super Sport, with 1200 hp, and without limiter, managed 431 km/h, making it the fastest car on the planet. An attempt to beat the Veyron's record is already planned. Top speed is estimated to be above 270 mph or 434 km/h.
500
The total number of Bugatti Chirons that are going to be produced. Half of the production is already allocated.516
This is the official value, in grams, for CO2 emissions per km. It's definitely not the answer to fighting global warming.
1500
The number of horses produced. That's 300 more horsepower than the previous Veyron Super Sport. And 50% more than the original Veyron. Torque is equally impressive, reaching a whopping 1600 Nm.
1995
The official announced weight. With fluids and without conductor.3800
The centrifugal force, in G, to which each gram of tire is exposed. A value higher than what the tires of an F1 have to withstand.
50000
The force required, in Nm, to twist the Chiron's structure 1st. Only comparable to the LMP1 prototypes we see in Le Mans.
240000
Chiron's price in euros. More thing less thing. Base. No options. And no taxes!
All of them impressive numbers. With the presentation in Portugal, Bugatti did not miss the opportunity to register Chiron's visit here. We leave some of these images with very familiar scenarios.
