Mercedes-Benz is determined to change its image, a renewal in terms of design that started with the Mercedes SL, passed through the Mercedes S-Class, E-Class and more recently the C-Class. now looking more up-to-date and younger, this is the new Mercedes V-Class. An authentic makeover of the MPV concept.

Mercedes chose to turn its Vito into a much broader market where comfort and practicality are the order of the day, thus setting new standards in its segment with a distinctive design and a series of innovations until now only present in the S-Class.

The new Mercedes V-Class combines space for eight people with technology and a lot of comfort, without forgetting efficient and safe driving, characteristics that distinguish cars that bear the three-pointed star. This makes the Mercedes V-Class enter the MPVS market as the perfect vehicle for those who need a lot of space without sacrificing style and comfort.

New Class V

With this new MPV, Mercedes-Benz intends to serve the most diverse markets, in a vehicle that is useful without escaping the commitment to luxury and comfort. The Mercedes V-Class can take us down to the red carpet, the whole family on vacation or just be able to take riding, surfing, mountain biking and dog gear at the same time.

Great flexibility awaits us when it comes to using the interior without losing the elegant figure. Available in two equipment lines, the Class V and Class V AVANTGARDE, with a sporty exterior package and three interior design lines. Two wheelbases will be available, with three body lengths ranging from 4895 to 5370 millimeters, as well as three engines and a vast list of options.

The new Mercedes V-Class can be customized according to the owner's personal tastes and needs. The vast list of options helps in this same customization, where the LED pack and many other systems previously exclusive to the S-Class will be available.

In terms of engines, 3 will be available, both with a two-stage turbo. The compact two-stage turbocharger module consists of a small high-pressure turbo and a large low-pressure turbocharger. This guarantees greater torque and reduced consumption.

The most important advantage of this concept is the improvement in cylinder capacity, resulting in more torque at low speeds. The V 200 CDI will have 330 Nm to offer, while the V 220 CDI mobilizes 380 Nm, 20 Nm more than its predecessor.

On the other hand, the combined consumption of the V 200 CDI is reduced by 12% to 6.1 liters every 100 kilometers. The V 220 CDI will have an announced consumption of 5.7 liters for every 100 kilometers travelled, which represents an 18% reduction in fuel consumption, accompanied by just 149 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

A V 250 BlueTEC version with 440 Nm of torque and just 6 liters of diesel per 100 kilometres, ie 28% less than the comparable six-cylinder engine, will also be available. If the driver activates Sport mode, the throttle characteristics change, with the engine responding more quickly to the throttle and the maximum torque rises to 480 Nm.

Two gearboxes will be available: a manual 6-speed gearbox and a comfortable and economical 7-speed automatic gearbox, the 7G-TRONIC PLUS.

Will the new Mercedes V-Class have enough attributes to stand up to the best-selling Volkswagen Sharan, the sportier Ford S-Max or the Lancia Voyager? We will wait for the test anyway and they knew first hand what the value of this new MPV from Mercedes is.
