Renovated design, more technology and “Simply Clever” solutions. This is what we can expect from the new Skoda Octavia.

As we reported about two weeks ago, the Czech brand has unveiled an updated version of its bestseller, the Skoda Octavia. But it wasn't just on the outside – namely in the redesigned front section that there was a lot to talk about – that Skoda made changes.

In this 3rd generation, which has now reached the middle of its lifecycle, the Skoda Octavia brings new features all over the cabin, starting with the new color combination – brown and black (in the highlighted image) – available in the Ambition version. Available in Style and L&K versions is the new lighting system, where you can choose from 10 different colors to create a personalized ambience. Another new feature is the heated steering wheel and folding tables for back seat passengers.

On the center console, the previous 6.5-inch touchscreen has been replaced by an 8-inch screen (9.2 in the high-end Columbus version) with touch-sensitive buttons, to the detriment of the physical buttons next to the screen. Even in the basic version (Swing), the infotainment system includes the usual Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and SmartGate, for connection to smartphones, in addition to the Wi-Fi hotspot and a module for SIM cards. Speaking of smartphones, another new feature is the technology of wireless charging , which will be available soon.

The three customizable keys allow you to store each driver's preferences, from assistance systems to seats and lighting – as soon as the driver opens the vehicle, the car is instantly configured.

The first deliveries of the new Skoda Octavia in Active, Ambition, Style and L&K versions are scheduled for early 2017, while the Scout and RS variants will follow a few months later.
