Polestar's new Volvo XC90 T8 is the most powerful ever

Polestar has developed yet another performance package for the hybrid version of the Volvo XC90. Result? It's the most powerful production Volvo ever.

There is no doubt that plug-in hybrid models are increasingly becoming a real alternative to models that use only combustion engines, which is why Polestar has introduced a new package for the Volvo XC90's T8 engine. The Swedish brand's larger model, which was already one of the least polluting SUVs on the market, is now surely one of the most powerful.

Thanks to the “Polestar Performance Optimization”, the 2.0 turbo engine in combination with the electric motors now produces 421 hp and 680 Nm, instead of the 400 hp and 640 Nm of the previous version, which allows accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds (minus 0.1 seconds).

Despite the increase in power, the consumptions announced remain at 2.1 l/100 km, such as the 43 km autonomy in exclusively electric mode. Polestar also guarantees “a new level in terms of driving pleasure”, which in practice translates into more efficient accelerator response and a faster and more precise gearbox.
