First model equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the history of the Japanese brand, the new Lexus NX is now hitting the national market with the announcement of the opening of the second generation bookings of its best seller — bookings are made online on a dedicated page on the Lexus website.

With the arrival of the first units scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, the NX comes in two versions: NX 350h (hybrid) and NX 450h+ (plug-in hybrid).

The Lexus NX 350h is priced starting at 66,153 euros while the NX 450h+ sees its price start in the 69 853 euros.

However, for business customers, the plug-in hybrid version can be made considerably more affordable, with access to a range of tax benefits. Therefore, the Executive+ version falls within the fiscal level for deducting VAT (50,000 euros + VAT).

Lexus NX numbers

Starting with the plug-in hybrid version, a Lexus debut, the NX 450h+ uses an in-line four-cylinder engine with 2.5 liters of gasoline capacity (using the most efficient Atkinson cycle), which comes in conjunction with an electric front motor and the other rear (giving all-wheel drive). The end result is 309 hp of power.

Powering the electric motors is an 18.1 kWh battery that gives the Lexus NX 450h+ a range in electric mode of 69 km to 76 km in the combined WLTP cycle, or 89 km to 98 km in the urban WLTP cycle.

As for the conventional hybrid version, the NX 350h has the same 2.5 engine associated with the well-known Lexus hybrid system, for a total power of 242 hp. In this case we have an e-CVT transmission and we can take advantage of versions with front or all-wheel drive.

The new generation of the Japanese brand's best-selling SUV has already been driven by us. To get to know him in more detail, the best thing is to see (or review) the video that Diogo Teixeira made at the wheel of the new NX.
