BYD wants to overcome prejudice against Chinese-made cars with its new weapon: the BYD Tang.
It may even have the name of instant juice, but the Tang is the weapon BYD wants to use to convince the most skeptical before they make the decision to buy an SUV manufactured by a premium brand from the old continent.
This test of the new BYD Tang took place in China, it's true. But so you don't get the feeling that the duel wasn't honest, it took place at Bosch's technical facility in Yakeshi.
In an ambitious test, the BYD Tang faces 2 heavyweight competitors from the old continent: the Volkswagen Tiguan and the BMW X6, in 2 different races.

Without fears and owner of a capable data sheet, the BYD Tang has a 2 liter turbo engine of 205 horsepower, associated with 2 electric drive units of 150 horsepower distributed by each axle. In total we have an SUV capable of delivering a combined power of 505 horsepower and 719Nm of torque, all controlled by an automatic transmission with 6 ratios and all-wheel drive.
BYD claims that the Tang is capable of fulfilling 0 to 100km/h in just 5 seconds and in moderate driving claims that consumption of 2l/100km is possible. These are impressive values for a proposal whose price will be around $45,000 before taxes and tax incentives.
