When it was introduced in 2016, the second generation of Ford GT was limited to just 1000 units. However, two years later and with all the cars sold, Ford decided to fulfill the dreams of fans of its model and extend the production of the supercar for about two more years.
Ford's decision was due to the huge demand that the model has had, with demand outpacing supply by a ratio of six to one. However, not everyone who wants to own the American super sports car will be able to buy it, as only 350 more units will be produced.
Therefore, from November 8th and for a month, Ford will reopen the application period for the purchase of the Ford GT in selected markets. Potential owners must submit their applications through the FordGT.com platform.

Despite huge demand, it can't be said that the second generation of the Ford GT, powered by the 3.5 l bi-turbo V6 EcoBoost, has been trouble-free. Not long ago, the American brand recalled the model for having risk of hydraulic leaks that could lead to a fire, a problem that affected almost every Ford GT produced.

Ford also announced the creation of the version Ford GT Heritage Edition , to commemorate 50 years of the Ford GT40 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This version will feature the colors of Gulf Oil, in homage to the car that won the French race in 1968 and 1969.
