How much would you give for a used Porsche 911 R?

Two of the Porsche 911 R's 911 sold are now on sale for well above the original price.

Unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Porsche 911 R was an immediate success: all 911 models produced by the German brand, each available for €240,000, were sold in a matter of days, and a few months later their value tripled. And it's easy to see why.

The Porsche 911 R is a model designed for driving purists: after all, we are talking about a modern Porsche with a 4.0 liter atmospheric engine with 500 hp, six-speed manual transmission, 1,370 kg and components from the GT3 RS version . We could hardly ask for more.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Are you pronouncing the name “Porsche” correctly?

Unfortunately – and because all the units have already been sold – it's not easy to get a Porsche 911 R, but it's possible. Two (little) used copies are currently on sale.

One of them belongs to the American dealership Exotic Euro Cars, is one of the first to arrive in the US and is on sale for around 650,000 euros. The other is on sale at a Porsche dealer in Norway for something like €720,000. In Portugal, there will be at least two units of this model.

The question arises: is the Porsche 911 R worth this money? The more affluent Stuttgart brand fanatics will say yes. As for “Porschists” on a tighter budget, alternatively, they might want to take a look at this “classic” from the 1950s.
