THE Ford is committed to expanding the Focus range and therefore launched a more “adventurous” version. Designated Active, this new version is available in both van and hatchback and adopts a crossover look, with plastic protections in the wheel arches and bumpers and even bars on the roof.
The crossover genes are also visible in the higher ground clearance (30 mm at the front and 34 mm at the rear) and in the two new driving modes Slippery and Trail, which join Normal, Eco and Sport.
The first, Slippery, assists on slippery surfaces, while the second, Trail, is suitable for surfaces as soft as sand, allowing the wheels to slip a little and adjusting the throttle response.
The Ford Focus Active comes with either 17″ or 18″ alloy wheels. Ford also bet on safety and driving aids, with systems such as adaptive cruise control, signal recognition, Active Park Assist 2 (which is capable of parking the car by itself), the maintenance system in the lane or the Evasive Steering Assist, which is capable of diverting the Focus Active from a stationary or slower moving vehicle if available in Focus Active.
And the engines?
Focus Active has gasoline and diesel engines. These are associated with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. For gasoline, we have the 1.0 Ecoboost of 125 hp with an announced consumption of 4.8 l/100km and emissions of 107 g/km of CO2, and the 1.5 Ecoboost of 150 hp with the brand announcing an average consumption of 5.3 l/ 100km and emissions of 121 g/km of CO2, .

On the Diesel side, the offer starts with the 1.5 EcoBlue with 120 hp which, according to Ford, consumes 3.5 l/100km and emits 93 g/km of CO2. In addition to this, the 2.0 EcoBlue with 150 hp is also available, which announces consumption of 4.4 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 114 g/km.
Prices
However, the oval brand has already released prices for its new proposal.
