This weekend was full of emotions. Mud, sand, asphalt, good food and breathtaking scenery — these were some of the obstacles men and machines had to face in the Volvo XC Adventure.
Another event with the seal of Clube Escape Livre, which this time led a caravan of Volvo XC customers on an off-road adventure that began in Lisbon and had its high point in Arrábida. A tour designed above all to demonstrate to the brand's customers, in a controlled environment, the skills of Swedish models in overcoming obstacles.
More than a walk, a get-together
If the Volvo models showed how easy it was to overcome the obstacles in the Serra da Arrábida, it was even easier for the participants to appreciate the region's delicacies. Club Escape Livre tours are always marked by gastronomic moments, with the best of each region, and this Volvo XC Adventure was no exception.
Alongside the off-road tour, the Volvo Paper Challenge was also organised. A challenge that took place in Lisbon — during the morning period — and which allowed the participants to test their historical knowledge not only about some of the most important landmarks in Portuguese history, but also about the Swedish brand.
From the south bank, the scenic discovery route began with some adrenaline, and the trip took place along dirt paths, some with mud and the passage of water courses to Palmela. Lunch at the Pousada next to the castle, the guided tour of the fortress and the observation of the entire panorama were the second highlights of the day. New route to Azeitão and now at Quinta do Perú – Casa Grande, driving experiences followed, this time behind the wheel of the new Volvo XC40, European Car of the Year 2018 and the Volvo XC60, World Car of the Year 2018.
To temper the spirits, the Volvo XC models were exchanged for a carriage ride through the gardens and spaces of the farm and a snack marked by the delivery of souvenirs and the SPAL trophy ended this event before returning to Lisbon.
