Volvo V60 parades in Geneva. Elegance and functionality are arguments

Anonim

Geneva is usually the scene of good revelations by the Swedish brand. This is where we met the Volvo V90 or the Volvo XC60 last year. This year, the brand shows us the new generation of Volvo V60 . A van that seems to have everything for success, as in fact has happened with the manufacturer's latest models.

The new generation of the V60 is based on the SPA, the same basis as the 90 series and the XC60, betting, like its brothers, on the elegance of lines and functionality.

At the front, the signature LED stands out, already present in other models of the manufacturer, with the “Thor's hammer”, while the rear stands out for the spoiler on the roof, which gives it a dynamic look. Here, too, the LED lights take on the brand's new identity, without any doubt.

The electric tailgate is activated by a button on the instrument panel or on the gate itself, which hides the 529 liters of capacity.

With an interior virtually identical to its already renovated brothers, the new V60 stands out for its active and passive safety systems, namely the system Oncoming Mitigation with braking , in a world premiere, which is capable of detecting vehicles that are going against the traffic, trying to avoid a collision. Failing to do so, this system automatically locks the V60 and prepares the seat belts to help reduce the effect of a collision.

The suspension of the new Volvo V60 consists of overlapping double wishbones at the front and an integral axle at the rear, which includes, as on the XC90, a transverse blade made of lightweight composite materials and designed to provide a better balance between more dynamic driving without compromising the comfort of bearing.

Engines

The new Volvo V60 will arrive on the market with Diesel engines D3 and D4, with 150 and 190 hp respectively, and in petrol versions T5 and T6, with 250 and 320 hp respectively. On the way are two hybrid versions, with all-wheel drive: the T6 Twin Engine and the T8 Twin Engine.

According to information released in Geneva, the first units of the new Volvo V60 should start being delivered to customers from September. As for prices, they have not yet been released.
