The first model of the new CUPRA brand to be presented here in Geneva, at the Volkswagen Group's Media Night, was the concept of the 100% electric competition sports car, the CUPRA e-Racer.

The aim is for the CUPRA brand to continue SEAT's legacy in motorsport, which is more than 40 years old, thus demonstrating its vision for the future.

This is a 100% electric competition touring car, with a 300 kW electric motor that allows a continuous power of 408 hp, achieving peaks of 500 kW, which means 680 hp.

Also noteworthy are the cameras that replace the rear view mirrors.

When it comes to numbers, the CUPRA e-Racer manages to achieve top speeds of 270 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The 200 km/h is reached in 8.2 seconds.

With this model the brand intends to exceed current performances, thus demonstrating the capabilities of its technology at all levels. Thus, the brand replicates the formula of the well-known Leon TCR in competition, but where the combustion engine was replaced by a 100% electric propulsion system.

After the Geneva Motor Show, where the CUPRA e-Racer is highlighted, the Spanish brand will continue the development and testing of the model, so that it actually reaches the races, which is estimated to happen in 2019.
