Porsche is the most profitable brand in the Volkswagen Group

In 2013, Porsche earned more than €16.000 per unit sold. Thus becoming, in the profit per unit ratio, the most profitable brand in the Volkswagen Group.

According to the Volkswagen Group's 2013 account report, Porsche profited about €16,700 for each unit sold in 2013. Citing information from the Group's annual report, Bloomberg Business Week reports that with this result, Porsche is currently the most profitable brand of the German giant.

However, Bentley is not far away, achieving a profit of around €15,500 per unit. In third place comes a «weight» brand, Scania, with a result of €12,700 per unit.

Much further back comes Audi, which together with Lamborghini achieved in 2013 a profit of €3700 per unit. Even so, very far from the numbers achieved by Volkswagen, only €600 per unit sold.

Interesting numbers, which do not reflect the total turnover of each brand (higher at Volkswagen), but allow for a quantitative notion of the added value that each brand manages to add to its product.
