Volvo Trucks. After Jean-Claude Van Damme's Sparta, a truck tower

Anonim

Volvo Trucks went back to “doing theirs” and created yet another “out of the box” ad. After a few years ago having put the actor Jean-Claude Van Damme to make a split between two of his trucks, the Swedish brand decided to innovate again.

Despite not having resorted to the services of any Hollywood star this time, the truth is that the announcement we are talking to you about today is perhaps even more impressive than the one starring the Belgian actor.

the new ad

For starters, the number of trucks doubled, with the ad featuring the recently renovated Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FM, and Volvo FMX as protagonists, four models that together account for two-thirds of sales by the brand's heavy-duty division. Swedish.

From there, Volvo Trucks decided that the best way to advertise them was… putting them on top of each other. The result was a “truck tower” 15 meters high and weighing 58 tonnes.

At the base of this creative construction comes the Volvo FMX, chosen by the Swedish brand due to the capacity of its “bogie” to be capable of carrying 38 tonnes. Another important help in making this announcement was the “Volvo Dynamic Steering” technology, which allowed us to maintain a trajectory as straight as possible.

In total, Volvo Trucks claims that it took about a month to build the tower and, above all, to ensure that it was safe. Mainly because at the top of the truck tower was none other than the brand's director, Roger Alm!

In this video you can find out about the “making of” of what is probably the most spectacular Volvo Trucks advertisement… for now.
