Volkswagen R also receives new logo

The Frankfurt Motor Show marked the beginning of a new era for Volkswagen, not only represented by the introduction of the new ID.3 but also by the revelation of a new logo and image of the manufacturer. This renewal now comes to Volkswagen R , the performance division of the German brand.

As we saw in the redesign of the brand's logo, the redesigned R also represents a new beginning for this division. The new logo is now more “modern, distinguished and polished”.

We can see R reduced to its essential components, showing two elements. One superior, with horizontal and curvilinear progression; and the bottom, a diagonal dynamic. Compared to its predecessor, it is much more stylized and horizontal in its orientation.

The new Volkswagen R logo will not only adorn the R models, but the R Line as well. The first model to carry the new symbol will be the Volkswagen Atlas R-Line, a large SUV sold in North America.

It was in 2002 that we got to know Volkswagen's first R, the unforgettable Golf R32. Since then, the letter R (Racing) has meant for the German brand the pinnacle of performance of its models, even without sacrificing their daily usability.
