Jeremy Clarkson. "And my supercar of the year is…"

Anonim

Recognized worldwide for his “politically incorrect” opinions, Jeremy Clarkson revealed that, for him, the supercar of the year is not a Lamborghini, a Porsche or a Ferrari, but the Eagle Lightweight GT.

Not content with this surprising choice, the famous British journalist still elected the MINI JCW GP as car of the year, perhaps an even less orthodox choice, especially considering how much more focused and limited it is — not only in the number of seats (only two), but also in the number of copies (only 3000 units).

The election of these two models was revealed during this year's edition of the UK Motor Awards. If you remember, two years ago the presenter of The Grand Tour had revealed that his choice for car of the year was not the multi-award winning Volvo XC60, but the far more exclusive Lamborghini Huracán Performante.

With an annual production of just two (!) units, this ultra rare supercar features an atmospheric in-line six cylinder with 4.7 l capacity. Powered by three Weber carburetors, this engine with an aluminum block is capable of delivering around 380hp and 508Nm.

Combined with a five-speed manual transmission, this engine allows the Eagle Lightweight GT to reach 0 to 96 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in less than 5.0s and reach 273 km/h.

In total it takes about 8000 hours to produce one unit of the Eagle Lightweight GT.
