Cold Start. The Lada Niva simply refuses to die, part II

Anonim

If six months ago we saw the Lada Niva pass the demanding WLTP and manage to meet the demanding Euro6D-TEMP standard, now the veteran model — originally launched in 1977 — has rigged up to face 2020 with reinforced “confidence”.

In Russia its most recent update has just been unveiled, with the bulk of the news being concentrated in its interior.

Lada claims to have improved the soundproofing of the Niva, in addition to having gained new lighting, coverings and sun visors — there's more… The air conditioning unit was revised, now having rotary controls and the ventilation outlets were redesigned; the glove compartment gained volume, we now have two 12 V plugs and a double cup holder. Speedometer and tachometer have new lighting, and the trip computer has more options.

The front seats are also new, more comfortable and supportive, and can even be heated. Amazingly, for the first time in its history, the Lada Niva has rear headrests. On three-door versions, the mechanism for folding the front seats so that we can access the rear ones is now more robust.
