Renault Arkana. A French "Coupé" SUV is coming

Anonim

After Captur (and Kaptur), Kadjar and Koleos, Renault is set to add one more model to its growing SUV range. The last teaser reveals its name — welcome to the Renault Arkana.

The tag positions it in segment C, where the Kadjar is located, but so far, it has not been possible to confirm whether it will be derived from it. Some rumors suggest that it could be derived from Kaptur, a larger Captur sold in some markets like Russia.

What we know about this Renault Arkana comes from some “spy photos” of the model, which reveal a profile totally different from any SUV of the French brand, as it has a roofline descending towards the rear… Yes, it's more of an SUV that wants to be a coupe.

Renault Arkana

There are no more details for now, with the last teaser revealing the name and the rear part, where we can see similar design optics to those found on Mégane and Talisman, in addition to being visible also a pronounced spoiler.

The first teaser (highlighted) reveals the front, where you can distinguish the well-known lighting signature of Renault, with a series of graphic elements already known from other models of the brand.

As for the name Arkana, it derives from the Latin Arcanum, which means secret or mystery. According to the brand, the term has been used for centuries to mark events and phenomena of special significance. Renault intends, therefore, to associate to the Arkana concept, characteristics such as mystery, pioneering spirit and attractiveness — will it happen?
