The Renault Mégane already has the 1.7 Blue dCi 150, for now only in France

Since the emergence of the Euro 6d-TEMP standard, the Diesel range has been offered Megane it comes down to one engine: the 1.5 Blue dCi in the 95hp and 115hp variants. This is due to the “forced” reform that the old 1.6 dCi was subjected to, taking with it the 130hp 165hp diesel variants.

However, it seems that lack of a more powerful Diesel version could be about to end. For now it is only available in France, but the truth is that the Renault Mégane has, once again, another Diesel engine in its range in addition to the “eternal” 1.5 Blue dCi.

We are, of course, talking about the new 1.7 dCi 150, which is now available under the bonnet of Kadjar, Scénic and Talisman. Associated with this new engine is the EDC double-clutch automatic gearbox, and the Mégane equipped with this engine cannot have a manual gearbox.

The numbers of the 1.7 Blue dCi 150

As you may have already noticed, the “150” in the designation of this 1.7 Blue dCi refers to power. Consequently, the 1.7 l engine delivers 150 hp and 340 Nm of torque, values ​​that, despite being below those offered by the more powerful version of the old 1.6 dCi (they were always 165 hp and 380 Nm), are always better than those offered by the 1.5 Blue dCi.

Finally, Renault announces that, when equipped with the 1.7 Blue dCi 150, the Mégane consumes 4.7 l/100km, emitting 124 g/km of CO2. Now available for order in France (and even with the special series), it is not yet known if this engine will reach our market or how much it would cost if this were to happen.
