Skoda Karoq Sportline. No, it's not just "show-off"

Compact crossover designed based on the same MQB platform used, for example, by the SEAT Ateca, the Skoda Karoq continues its onslaught of new versions and equipment lines, with the aim of covering the maximum of consumer choices.

The last proposal is called Skoda Karoq Sportline and, contrary to what the name might suggest, it is not just a cosmetic operation.

On the contrary, there is some substance beyond the bolder style, by bringing a new engine, which is also the most powerful of all those proposed in this model — a 2.0 petrol turbo, guaranteeing 190 hp of power.

With 2.0 TSI 190 hp… but not only!

In case you don't want so much “firepower”, Skoda also offers this new version with the already known 1.5 TSI of 150 hp, not yet available among us, and 2.0 TDI also of 150 hp. Depending on the choice, the Karoq will be able to display either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The most accessible engines bring only front-wheel drive from the factory, although, if the customer needs it and is willing to spend a little more, they can also receive all-wheel drive.

More equipment? Yea!

As for the visible differences of this Sportline version, they start from the outset on the outside, which adopts a sportier posture, thanks to redesigned bumpers, 18” wheels (19” as an option), black roof bars, rear side windows darkened, black appliqués and the “mandatory” Sportline badges.

Inside the cabin, black sports seats with contrasting silver stitching, with Skoda stressing the fact that these seats are based on “a revolutionary Thermoflux construction process, with three layers and permeable to the passage of air”. Advantageous solution, particularly on hot days.

Also contributing to differentiation, metal pedals, sports steering wheel covered with perforated leather, in addition to LED interior lighting and black covering of the pillars and roof.

Digital panel? yes but optional

As in the other versions, also in this Skoda Karoq Sportline, customers will be able to enhance their car even more, for example, opting for the new and optional digital instrument panel. Which, in this particular version, becomes even more special, as it has an extra layout that doesn't exist in other versions, more sporty, with the rev counter and speedometer in the center.

Like the Karoq Scout, this latest version of the Skoda Karoq Sportline will also be on display at the next Paris Motor Show, scheduled for October.
