New contact with Skoda Kodiaq, now in the Swiss city. The Kodiaq range is extended with the appearance of the Sportline and Scout versions.

It's no secret that the SUV market is "iron and fire", and that's why Skoda didn't want to be out of the battlefield. The answer is its first large SUV and the brand's first seven-seat model, the Skoda Kodiaq. Already presented and even tested by us, we found the Kodiaq again in Geneva to see its new versions.

THE Skoda Kodiaq Sportline , on top, is a younger and more dynamic interpretation of the 7-seater SUV. Visually, the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline distinguishes itself from the base model by its sportier appearance, which is largely due to the new front and rear bumpers, as well as the black finishes on the grille, side skirts, mirror covers and roof bars. Another new feature is the option to choose between 19-inch or 20-inch two-tone wheels.

Inside, the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline builds on the Ambition equipment level, and adds new electronically adjustable Alcantara leather sports seats. In addition, the focus is also on the infotainment system that allows access to information such as G forces, turbo pressure, oil or coolant temperature.

In terms of engines, those who yearned for an increase in power will even have to wait until the arrival of the RS version. The range of engines remains unchanged, with the two TDI and two TSI blocks, with displacements between 1.4 and 2.0 liters and powers between 125 and 190 hp (with all-wheel drive system as standard). The available transmissions include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a DSG (double clutch) with 6 or 7 speeds.

A more adventurous Kodiaq

Even though it's an SUV, Skoda wanted to optimize its off-road potential with the new Skoda Kodiaq Scout . In addition to the all-wheel drive system, in this version, ground clearance has been increased, improving the angles of attack and departure.

The Scout version has an Off-Road driving mode. This mode changes the damping, the behavior of the ABS and the electronic differential lock. Optionally, Skoda offers a Rough Road Pack, which adds underbody protections.

To distinguish this new Scout variant and emphasize the strength of the Skoda Kodiaq, the Czech brand has added to the SUV's image new protections surrounding the bodywork, with a gray tone on both bumpers. This tone also appears in other elements, such as the mirror covers and the roof rails. Another way to distinguish the new, more adventurous version is through the darkened finish of the rear side windows, in addition to the “Scout” inscriptions next to the front doors, just behind the wheel arches.

The Kodiaq range, in addition to the new Sportline and Scout, comes with three equipment levels: Active, Ambition and Style. The new Skoda SUV arrives in Portugal next April, with prices yet to be announced.
