Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian GP getting his first victory with Mercedes.
The English rider, who had not won a race since the US GP last year, still with McLaren, started from pole and dominated the race at the Hungaroring circuit at his leisure. Even though he got a bonus from his compatriot Jenson Button. After the first pit stop, Vettel was trapped behind Jenson Button, with this incident Hamilton gained the necessary edge to manage his race without too much effort.
Second place smiled at Kimi Raikkonen, benefiting from the happy marriage between his Lotus E21 and Pirelli rubbers, keeping longer on track than Sebastian Vettel, they only met on track in the last 14 laps, laps that weren't enough so that Vettel could consummate an overdrive to the “iceman”, which, as is characteristic of him, repeated all the laps on “chemical paper”.
Mark Webber was ranked fourth. Romain Grosjean could have ended up in this position, however, when he exceeded the maximum speed allowed in the pits, he was penalized. Fifth place for the Spaniard Fernando Alonso. Jenson Button (McLaren-Mercedes) was seventh, ahead of Felipe Massa (Ferrari). Nico Rosberg was the least happy, however, he retired towards the end when the engine of his Mercedes "gave".
