Fiat is growing in Portugal. A testament to this was the commercial performance of the Italian brand during the month of March, where it rose to 4th place in the sales chart.

The national market witnessed, for the first time since 2013, a negative variation in sales. Compared to March 2016, sales of cars and light commercial vehicles decreased by 2.5%. However, accumulated since the beginning of the year, the evolution of the market remains in positive territory. The first quarter of 2017 records an increase of 3%, corresponding to 68 504 vehicles sold.

Despite the negative month for the market in general, Fiat increased its sales by 2.6% compared to March last year. The Italian brand maintains the growth trend since the beginning of the year. In January it ranked in 9th place, in February it rose to 6th and now in March it rose to 4th place. The good performance corresponded to 1747 units sold.

The first quarter turns out to be very positive. Fiat grew 8.8%, above the market, which corresponds to a share of 5.92%. In total, in Portugal, the brand has sold 3544 vehicles this year. It is, at the moment, the 6th best-selling brand.

The main responsible for the good performance are the Fiat 500, leader in the segment, and the Fiat Tipo, which is being very well accepted. The latter celebrates its first marketing anniversary, is available in three bodies and already accounts for 20% of the brand's total sales in the national territory.

According to Fiat, it is not just the onslaught of new products that justifies the good results. The implementation of new sales processes and the modernization of the dealer network, which is still under way, are also fundamental factors for the good performance of the brand.
