The new Renault Twingo was unveiled yesterday, after an unprecedented online action was announced. With the official confirmation that the Renault Twingo has rear-wheel drive and engine, the “conversation” changes its tone.
The new Renault Twingo was inspired by the design of the original Twingo and the design of the Renault 5. Renault advances even though the rear window and the full-bodied rear are directly inspired by the Renault 5 Turbo. The unprecedented 5-door bodywork, with engine and rear-wheel drive, the result of the well-known partnership with Daimler, should be shared with the new generation Smart ForTwo and ForFour.
Renault's return to rear-wheel drive, combined with all the involvement that Renault Sport has had in the growth of the French brand's image, may encourage the appearance of a more hardcore version, even due to its faithful design from the new Renault Twingo to the Renault Twin' Run, concept that was widely applauded by the audience when it was unveiled.
