With this update, Porsche also appeals to the manual labor enthusiast (beware of the jokes…). The new 911 GT3 now offers, as an option, a six-speed manual gearbox. Excellent news, isn't it? Yet PDK is better at everything except the one thing that isn't measurable: driving pleasure.

Restyling, as in the rest of the 911, mainly affected the extremities. For newly designed front and rear shocks as well as rear optics. The elements that set the 911 GT3 apart from other 911s are still there. A dominant carbon fiber rear wing and optimized aerodynamic elements, highlighting a new rear diffuser.

Mechanically, the 500 hp continues to be delivered through the six-cylinder boxer 4.0 liters, naturally aspirated, derived from the unit that equips the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The chassis continues to feature four-wheel steering, which enhances agility and stability.

The 911 GT3 weighs around 1430 kg when equipped with a seven-speed PDK (dual clutch gearbox), which equates to 2.86 kg/hp. The excellent weight/power ratio is reflected in the performances: 3.4 seconds from 0-100 km/h and 318 km/h of top speed.

911 Gt3 even more interactive

Perhaps the result of the unexpected success of the 911 R, the 911 GT3 receives, as an option, a manual gearbox. According to the brand, it adds a new layer of interaction in the driving of the sports car.

A more interactive solution, but less effective than PDK. The 911 GT3, equipped with a clutch pedal, does the classic 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. That's 0.5 seconds longer than the PDK-equipped car. Negligible on the road, perhaps a world of difference on a circuit. Top speed, on the other hand, amounts to 320 km/h, two km/h more than in units equipped with a PDK box.

Inside, the steering wheel derived from the 918 Spyder stands out, with just 360 mm in diameter. We can choose between three seats: Porsche Sports Plus (with manual or electric adjustment), baquet-type (with reclining back and integrated chest airbag) and drumsticks in CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic), finished to reveal the classic pattern of the carbon fiber.

In addition, a smartphone application is also available, called Track Precision, which allows you to record, visualize and analyze information related to driving.

The price for Portugal has not yet been released, but it is already available for order. As a reference in Germany the base price is €152416, including VAT, and will be released in mid-June.
