One of the rarest and most desired models of its time (and not only…) was recently put on sale.
It was over 25 years ago that Mercedes-Benz presented the 190 E Evo II in Geneva, one of the mythical models of the 90s. Only 500 units were produced for DTM homologation purposes, and one of them (#55) is now on sale , with only 46 thousand kilometers on the meter. According to the seller – a classics collector based in New York – the high-performance saloon is in very good condition, as can be seen from the pictures.
Under the bonnet, we find the Cosworth 2.5 liter engine with 235 hp of power (with the AMG PowerPack package), coupled to a 5-speed gearbox (dogleg). In its heyday, the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16V Evolution II fulfilled the traditional 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, and the top speed was 250km/h. Not bad…

On the outside, the Mercedes-Benz 190E also retains its characteristic features: generously proportioned adjustable rear wing, 17-inch wheels and a highly modified body. The copy in question is on sale on eBay for the modest sum of $135 thousand, approximately 120 thousand euros. Remember that a few years ago, it was possible to find this same model on sale for less than 60 thousand euros – in other words, it doubled its value in just 5 years.
