While the new BMW M2 is not presented, the BMW M2 Competition continues to gather many fans. And one thing you wouldn't expect, after all, it is considered by many to be one of the best creations ever made by the Munich brand.

Equipped with a 3.0 l inline six cylinder that produces 410 hp and 550 Nm, it is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2s. But even so, there are always those who don't think enough and want even more.

This is precisely the case of the owner of Filippo Speed Shop, based in California, USA, who took to SEMA, in Las Vegas, a BMW M2 Competition equipped with a gigantic eight-cylinder engine.

And it's not just any eight cylinders. This is the supercharged 6.2 l V8 that we found in Dodge's Challenger Hellcat and Charger Hellcat, an engine that since its launch has been the basis for many projects similar to this one. In its stock configuration it produces 717 hp of power and 881 Nm of maximum torque.

Interestingly, this V8 fits like a glove in the M2 Competition's engine compartment, although several reinforcements have been added to keep the engine in place.

But there is more…

In addition to the engine swap, this BMW M2 Competition also received a new StopTech brake system, new 18” forged wheels and an adjustable suspension.

From an aesthetic point of view, to accompany all these mechanical evolutions, this M2 Competition received a new front bumper and also several carbon fiber parts: hood, roof, trunk lid and a fixed rear wing.
