The BMW X2 Concept anticipates the forms of the production version, which is expected to arrive in 2018.

Because the war in the premium SUV segment is unrelenting, BMW has just introduced the new X2 Concept, a sporty and robust SUV. A concept that shouldn't be too far from the forms of the production model, and which aims to analyze the public's acceptance of the model.

In terms of aesthetics, BMW opted for the coupé shapes, which are increasingly popular in the segment, and which, according to the brand, give the driver a “feeling of driving more dynamic and closer to the ground”. Otherwise, the X2 Concept was taking inspiration from its younger brother BMW X1 – both are expected to share the modular UKL platform. Although the interior has not yet been revealed, an equally modern cabin, equipped with the brand's latest technologies, is expected.

As for the range of engines, BMW did not want to reveal details, but in addition to the set of 2.0 liter gasoline and diesel engines, the big news could even be an M Performance variant, at around 300 hp. This and other confirmations can be given already at the next Geneva Motor Show, before the launch of the production version in early 2018.
