The Eos model will likely be discontinued and will give way to a new cabriolet.
After the announcement of the temporary suspension of production at the end of this year, another punch in the «stomach» of Autoeuropa. Klaus Bischoff, head of Volkswagen's design department, told Autocar Magazine that the Eos model is not expected to continue.
“Eos will have no successor. Hardtop convertibles are disappearing from the market and to be honest it's something that doesn't hurt to happen“, these were the statements made by Bischoff while the presentation of the new Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet was taking place at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
Bischoff, on the other hand, confirmed that there are plans to launch a new, larger convertible, the problem according to Bischoff “is that all factories are operating at full capacity, so this new model would have to be built in a new factory ”.
