Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupé: the BMW M4 killer

Anonim

The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupé was born with a very concrete purpose: to annihilate the BMW M4 and the rest of the competition.

Are you going to make it? We'll just have to wait and find out. But according to Autocar, Mercedes-AMG is committed to this purpose. For such a complex mission, it will once again request the services of the M158 4.0 liter V8 Twinturbo engine in a version with 505hp of power – increased turbo pressure, revised electronics and improved intake.

According to Autocar, which cites sources linked to the project, the new Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupé will have substantial differences from the saloon version – the highlighted image is a render. Despite sharing a large part of the components, the Coupé will be much more focused on performance. The center of gravity will be lower, the suspension will have more radical specific adjustments and it will undergo small tweaks in the chassis that should enhance the dynamic qualities of the structure – among them, a more extensive use of aluminium.

With these changes Autocar, quoting a project engineer, says the team “is confident that the new Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupé will set a new standard in the segment. It will be a great advance compared to the previous model”.

With more power and less weight, the brand's engineers believe that the C63 Coupé will be able to reach 0-100km/h in less than 4 seconds and surpass the 300km/h maximum speed – without the speed limiter activated. Remember that the BMW M4 takes 4.1 seconds from 0-100km/h. The presentation is scheduled for the Frankfurt Motor Show, next September. Fasten your seat belts, the fight will be close.
