Anticipated by the Vision iV Concept (in the highlighted image) that we met last year in Geneva, the Skoda Enyaq is getting ready to join a growing SUV family that already includes the Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq.
Developed based on the MEB platform, debuted by Volkswagen ID.3, the Skoda Enyaq is the next step in a strategy that will lead the Czech brand to launch more than 10 electric models by 2022 through its sub-brand, iV, says the brand.
All this because in 2025 Skoda wants 25% of its sales to correspond to 100% electric models or plug-in hybrids.
The origins of the name Enyaq
According to Skoda, the name Enyaq derives from the Irish name “Enya” which means “source of life”. Furthermore, the “E” at the beginning of the name represents electric mobility while the “Q” at the end links up with the rest of Skoda's SUV range.

Despite having revealed the name of its electric SUV through a teaser with the model's lettering, Skoda didn't reveal any more details of the Enyaq or any other teaser that allows anticipating the shapes of its first electric SUV, or at least realizing how next will be the Vision iV Concept.
