Anonim

After having visited the Finisterre and Trafalgar capes in Spain and Cabo da Roca in Portugal, the Nissan Crossover Domination returned to Spanish lands for its sixth edition, this time going to the most eastern point of the Iberian Peninsula, Cabo de Creus, in Catalonia.

In this edition of Nissan Crossover Domination, the fleet consisted of the new Juke and veterans Qashqai and X-Trail. With them, we traveled the roads of Catalunya and “were faced” with the storm of Gloria, confirming the versatility of the three crossovers from Nissan.

As you may already know, the Nissan Crossover Domination aims to celebrate Nissan's leadership in the fastest growing segment in Europe in recent years. It's time to review the results that have led Nissan, once again, to have reason to celebrate.

During the Nissan Crossover Domination we were able to prove again the dynamic qualities of the new Juke.

the numbers of success

With a market share of 21.2% and a total of 70 672 crossovers registered in Portugal, it's not hard to explain Nissan's success in this segment. After all, the brand that appears in second place on the podium, Peugeot, counts “only” with 40 974 registered crossovers, a value that allows it to have a market share of 12.3%.

Nissan Qashqai
No longer a newcomer to the market, but continues to sell like "hot buns". In 2019, Qashqai once again led the segment and already has 54 200 units in circulation in our country.

Behind this success three models emerge: Qashqai, Juke and X-Trail , being that of these, the best seller is, indisputably, the first. After all, in 2019 alone, the Qashqai sold 4341 units here, being the best-selling C-SUV and achieving 16% market share in the crossover segment, a segment that represents 25% of the national market.

A growing segment

As Nissan made a point of mentioning several times throughout the event, the crossover segment continues to grow. The data from JATO Dynamics says that in 2019 the compact crossover segment grew 6.2% while the C segment crossover segment grew 3.3%.

Nissan Crossover Domination
Here is the triumvirate that we were able to test in the sixth edition of the Nissan Crossover Domination.

Nissan Crossover Domination

As we told you, this year the Nissan Crossover Domination took place in the region of Catalonia, taking us through mountain roads to Cabo de Creus, the most eastern point of the Iberian Peninsula.

There we had the opportunity to put the entire crossover range of Nissan to the test, and, of course, the main attraction was the new juke , which confirmed, once again, its dynamic qualities.

Nissan X-Trail
The X-Trail was the only all-wheel drive Nissan crossover that we were able to test at this event.

Moreover, what stood out most in this reunion with the Nissan crossovers was their versatility, which allowed them to face the effects of the Glória storm with particular ease (and considerable safety).

With them we crossed areas full of fog, semi-flooded roads and circulated long kilometers on slippery surfaces, always with a high level of safety and without any fear of reaching an area we couldn't get through.
