Ford Focus RS receives performance-focused optional pack

After the new generation of the Ford Fiesta, the renewal of the Focus appears as the next big challenge for the American brand. The small family of Ford knew its version with sports pedigree just over two years ago, but according to Ford Performance the Focus RS still has a lot to give.

"The customer is always right"

For the first time, Ford decided to listen to the recommendations of various customers on "blogs, forums and Facebook groups". Among the main complaints were the lack of a self-locking differential on the front axle, and the new “performance pack” satisfies that same request.

By controlling the torque that is transmitted to the front axle, the self-locking differential developed by Quaife neutralizes traction losses and the phenomenon of understeer, helping to make the most of the capabilities of the 2.3 EcoBoost engine. And speaking of the engine, this one remains the same. It continues to deliver the same 350 hp of power and 440 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h remains at 4.7 seconds.

“For extreme driving enthusiasts, the added mechanical grip provided by LSD Quaife makes it even easier to accelerate around corners in a circuit and make the most of the acceleration out of it. This new setup also offers greater stability and mechanical control under heavy braking and will help drivers prepare the car for skidding using Drift Mode."

Leo Roeks, director of Ford Performance

The Focus RS is available in the usual Nitrous Blue blue, with a matte black rear spoiler and matching RS lettering on the sides, 19-inch alloy wheels, four-piston Brembo monobloc brake calipers and Recaro seats.

The prices of the Ford Focus RS with this “performance pack” are expected to be known closer to the end of this month.
