Toyota GT86 with Ferrari engine screaming at the top of its lungs

American driver Ryan Tuerck debuted his Toyota GT86 in Formula Drift Orlando.

In response to those asking for "more power" for the Toyota GT86, American Ryan Tuerck embarked on an ambitious project: replacing the 2.0 boxer four-cylinder engine with a V8 block from a Ferrari 458 Italia. A project aptly dubbed the GT4586 (it's easy to see why…).

The idea took shape over the past year, and in November Ryan Tuerck unveiled the final version of the car. Remember that this 4.5 liter V8 engine – which won the 2011 Engine of the Year award in the 4.0+ liter category – delivers 570 hp of power and 540 Nm of torque.

Apart from the engine transplant, the Toyota GT86 got a host of new aerodynamic appendages – that rear wing… – among other mechanical modifications, including an all-new suspension and a Brembo braking system.

Meanwhile, Ryan Tuerck participated in Formula Drift Orlando with his “GT4586”. And judging by this video recorded in the free practice session, the engine is alive and in very good health. A Japanese with a Japanese accent.
