Toyota has already revealed the specifications of the new Toyota Prius. Get to know the improvements that the Japanese brand has prepared for the new generation.

The Toyota Prius, since its first generation, launched in 1997, has been collecting a history of both growing fans, even though opinions about the design are not consensual. About to reach the fourth generation, Toyota released the specifications for the model “most efficient without connection to the mains”.

The new “silent” Prius is presented with a new gasoline engine completely reworked thinking about performance, weight and economy, promising to be 18% more economical compared to the previous generation and with an estimated consumption of around 2.7l/100km . The new engine has a four-cylinder 1.8 engine, capable of delivering 97hp at 5200 revolutions and 142Nm of torque, and is also 40% more efficient in warming up the engine.

As for the electric motor, it will deliver 73hp and will have a reduced dimension, as well as the lithium-ion batteries, to increase the luggage space up to 502 liters (56 liters more than its predecessor). Also in terms of the battery, it is smaller but that does not mean that it is worse, on the contrary: it allows greater autonomy in integral electric mode.

In terms of design, we see a redesigned interior and exteriors with more elaborate aerodynamic details. For the first time, the Prius will be released with an electric all-wheel-drive (E-Four) version, the same one used in the Lexus NX 300h

The new Toyota Prius will be available on October 28th at the Tokyo Motor Show.
