In these teasers now revealed from the Mercedes-AMG A 35 , we can see the AMG logo on the front grille and the yellow color reminiscent of much more exotic models like the Mercedes-AMG GT. What do we already know about this model?
What are the differences for the A 45?
It will have a more aggressive exterior design than the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. But like the new entry-level versions of the Mercedes-AMG (C 43 and E 53), the Mercedes-AMG A 35 will be less radical compared to the top of the range, the A 45.
Like the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, it keeps the optics reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, with full-LED headlamps. The AMG acronym on the grille, as well as the specific bumpers of this version, will be what will be most evident on the front of this vitaminized version.
Following the logic of entry-level AMGs, round exhausts are expected at the rear. The trapezoidal-shaped exhausts will be delivered to the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 and A 45 S, whose presentation should only take place in 2019, probably at the Geneva Motor Show.
Engine and power?
These are yet to be confirmed, but everything indicates that in addition to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, under the bonnet of the Mercedes-AMG A 35 will be a 2-liter turbo engine with at least 300 hp.This engine will also have an electrical support, provided by an electric generator that replaces the starter and alternator. This system, which Mercedes-Benz calls EQ Boost , is responsible for providing additional power to the heat engine and also serves to power the 48-volt system. It does not have electrical autonomy.
What are the rivals?
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 will face rivals such as the Audi S3 and Volkswagen Golf R. The more powerful versions, Mercedes-AMG A 45 and A 45 S, will be entrusted with the task of combating proposals such as the Audi RS3.
When do you arrive in Portugal?
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 is scheduled for presentation in October and the first units will start being delivered in Europe in December, just in time for Christmas. There are still no confirmed prices for the Portuguese market, but they should be among the 50 and 60 thousand euros.
