And prices continue to rise. Would you give €155,000 for this Supra?

Anonim

It appears that Toyota Supra (A80) prices continue to rise. After a few months ago we told you the story of a 1994 copy that sold for 106 thousand euros, today we bring you another copy of this Japanese icon that was bought for a price much higher than expected.

Auctioned by the North American company Barrett-Jackson, this 1997 copy cost an incredible 176,000 dollars (about 155,000 euros). Obviously, this is a value well below the 2.1 million dollars (about 1 million and 847 thousand euros) for which the first copy of the GR Supra A90 was sold, but even so, it is still surprising.

Helping this Supra achieve this value is the fact that, as it is a 1997 model, it belongs to the 15th Anniversary limited series. In addition, this particular Supra is still one of only 376 Targa models with black exterior and black interior paintwork, making it an even rarer model.

Just look at this Supra to confirm that the passage of years has left (very) few marks.

The Supra auctioned

Practically all of the series (with the exception of an aftermarket exhaust and a lowering kit), this Supra has only covered around 112,000 kilometers in its 22 years of life.

The interior is also practically new.

Furthermore, it is still in an impeccable state of conservation. As you'd expect, under the bonnet we find the iconic 2JZ-GTE, the 3.0 l twin-turbo inline six-cylinder that appears associated, as it should be, with a six-speed manual gearbox.

This small logo proving that this copy belongs to the special 15th Anniversary series helps explain the price of this Supra.

Do all these features justify the value for which this Toyota Supra was sold? We leave that to your discretion.
