Mercedes-Benz introduces new (and useful) personal and virtual assistant

Mercedes-Benz has been very active as it recently introduced the X-Class, unveiled a little of what the new CLS will be, and unveiled the avant-garde interior of the new A-Class. Now, the brand launches Ask Mercedes, an application for mobile devices that works as a personal assistant, and virtual, and that can turn out to be truly useful.

The new service uses artificial intelligence (AI) and combines a chatbot with augmented reality functions.

Questions can be asked via a smartphone or via the voice recognition function. In the new E-Class and S-Class, controls and screens can be captured via a smartphone camera and the application visually identifies objects and provides clarification on the corresponding function.

In addition to these, Mercedes-Benz is preparing a service that, through connectivity services, informs you if someone hits your car when it is parked. How many times have you arrived at the car and it had a bump in your absence?

The system doesn't avoid the heartbreak, but it will probably make you realize who it was and manage to resolve it in the best way.

And for those who want to get to know a Mercedes-Benz in a playful way, the “Ask Mercedes” can also be used at home through social networks (Facebook Messenger) or voice assistants (Google Home, Amazon Echo).

We're creating a personalized customer experience that encompasses much more than just the vehicle. With innovative services like 'Ask Mercedes', we are expanding our digital ecosystem even further

With the “Ask Mercedes” App, customers can engage in a dialogue with Mercedes-Benz and get an immediate response. The chatbot understands the spoken language and asks questions in various ways. The content was adapted to different interests and knowledge levels. Videos and images are often embedded in the text. Also, there are links to the owner's manual and YouTube.
