During the summer, Mazda announced the start of a restoration program for the MX-5 NA , the first generation of the model. The first results of this program can now be seen at the next Tokyo Auto Salon, which opens its doors early next year.

Remember that this restoration program is divided into two areas. One is dedicated to the entire restoration of the car, with Mazda guaranteeing the return of an MX-5 to a state as close to the original as possible. The second area is dedicated to the reproduction of original parts, such as hoods, wooden Nardi steering wheels or even Bridgestone SF325 tires in the original measurements of the first MX-5s.

The work carried out involved dismantling the car until only the bodywork was left, which was repaired from all damage and corrosion, before being repainted. The engine also “jumped out” for an excellent service.
