We have gathered in a single article the concepts that were present at the Geneva Motor Show. From almost production models to the most futuristic proposals.

The Geneva Motor Show once again served as a showcase not only for production vehicles, which we will soon see on the road, but also for the more exotic creations that anticipate the future.

From production models disguised as concepts, to more futuristic proposals, for more distant scenarios. There was everything in Geneva, but in this article we are going to dedicate ourselves exclusively to the most striking concepts at the Swiss show. From A to Z:

Audi Q8 Sport

2017 Audi Q8 Sport in Geneva

This concept, which we already knew from Detroit, anticipates the future top-of-the-range SUV of the German brand. In Geneva, it won a Sport version and was presented with a hybrid engine, totaling 476 hp and 700 Nm. Find out more about the Q8 Sport here.

Bentley EXP12 Speed 6e

2017 Bentley EXP12 Speed 6e in Geneva

One of the salon's surprises. Not only for being a passionate roadster version of the already beautiful Bentley EXP10 Speed 6, but also for the choice of an all-electric propulsion. Know him in more detail.

Citroen C-Aircross

2017 Geneva Motor Show. From here, the cars of the future will be born 16048_3

Are minivans on their way to extinction? It seems so. Also Citröen will replace the C3 Picasso with a crossover, anticipated by the Citröen C-Aircross concept. More about the model here.

Hyundai FE Fuel Cell

2017 Hyundai FE fuel cell in Geneva

Hyundai continues to bet on fuel cells and hydrogen. The futuristic look of this concept anticipates a new crossover to be launched in 2018, replacing the Tucson ix35 Fuel Cell.

Compared to this, this new generation – the fourth in fuel cell technology – is 20% lighter and 10% more efficient. The energy density of the fuel cell is 30% higher, which justifies the announced range of 800 km.

Pininfarin H600

2017 Pininfarina H600 in Geneva

The combined efforts of Pininfarina and the Hybrid Kinetic Group gave rise to this H600. An elegant 100% electric executive saloon of classic proportions, capable of overwhelming performance.

The H600 delivers more than 800 hp, transmitted to all four wheels, being able to fulfill 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h, but what is impressive is the autonomy. Pininfarina announces 1000 km of autonomy (NEDC cycle) for the H600. How is it possible? Thanks to what the studio defines as “super batteries”, and the valuable contribution of a generator in the form of a micro-turbine.

Infinity Q60 Project Black S

2017 Infiniti Q60 Project Black S in Geneva

Infiniti presented us in the Swiss salon with a hypothetical top of the range for its Q60 coupé. It will not be marketed in Portugal, but it caught our interest, due to the integration of hybrid technology from F1, in a partnership with Renault Sport Formula One Team.

Kinetic energy from braking and thermal energy from the exhaust gases is recovered and stored in quick-discharge lithium batteries. This energy will be used to boost acceleration and eliminate turbo lag, adding up to 25% horsepower to the brand's 3.0 liter V6. There are no concrete numbers, but considering the 400 hp that the V6 currently debits, it would mean 500 hp with the complement of electrons.

Italdesign Boeing Pop.Up

2017 Italdesign Airbus Pop.Up in Geneva

Italdesign and Boeing came together to reflect on mobility in the future and the result was Pop.Up. Without a doubt the most concept concept in the salon.

Pop.Up is more than a vehicle, it is a system. With the aim of providing a door-to-door transport service, Pop.Up is fully autonomous and is called through an app. With the destination entered, the program calculates the best way to reach the destination. As you can see, reaching the destination can involve land or… air! Fantasy or possible future scenario?

Nanoflowcell Quant 48 volt

2017 Nanoflowcell Quant 48 volt in Geneva

Of all the electric vehicles present, this one remains the most intriguing. Since 2014, its propulsion system and, above all, energy storage, has never stopped evolving.

Unlike other electric ones, the Quant does not need to charge batteries, but, when necessary, “top up”. The Quant comes equipped with two 200 liter tanks each containing ionic liquids, one positively and one negatively charged.

When pumped through a membrane, they generate electricity capable of moving the vehicle. The liquids – in essence water with metallic salts – allow a range of 1000 km before being replaced. Getting ionic liquids can be a problem. Otherwise, the numbers are impressive. The more than 760 horsepower allows the Quant to reach 300 km/h and reach 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds. Will we ever see something like this being produced? We do not know.

The i-Road maintains the Active Lean system, which allows the vehicle to be tilted in curves, just like a motorcycle. The i-Road is electric and Toyota announces a range of 200 km. The absence of pedals to control the vehicle stands out, with controls more similar to those of a game console.
