Jaguar I-Pace is the fastest production electric vehicle in Laguna Seca

The first 100% electric SUV in the history of the feline brand, the Jaguar I-Pace thus begins its journey in the best possible way. It became the fastest 100% electric production vehicle with four doors on the North American circuit at Laguna Seca, with a time of 1min48.18s.

Equipped with two electric motors and a set of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 90 kWh, arranged on the floor between the axles, the Jaguar I-Pace advertises a combined power of 400 hp and 696 Nm of torque. Values ​​that allow it to reach, among other marks, an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8s.

With professional driver Randy Pobst at the wheel, an unaltered Jaguar I-Pace HSE First Edition set its best time at the Laguna Seca Weather Tech circuit on lap 11. Having done this, it was recorded in the video we present you here.

Now available for order in Portugal, with prices starting at 80,416.69 euros, including government incentives, the I-Pace is offered, among us, with three finishing levels - S, SE and HSE -, plus a special edition First Edition . The latter, available only during the first year of production.

In the US, the Jaguar I-Pace was shown, together with the new I-Pace eTrophy race car, at the Pebble Beach Elegance Contest, an event as part of the Monterey Auto Week, in the US.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with the launch of the I-Pace, Jaguar has also just created the first world championship for pure electric series production vehicles – the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Championship.

Single-brand championship to support the launch of the I-Pace, whose first race will take place this year, will feature a maximum of 20 units of the 100% electric I-Pace eTrophy race car — a model that, by the way, you will be able to know, right away, in this video.

As for the different stages of this new championship, they are planned to take place immediately before the Formula E races, on the same urban circuits.
