It is the first proposal of the new 100% electric Mercedes-Benz brand, the Mercedes-Benz EQC represents, according to the star manufacturer, the design language “Progressive Luxury”, in a body that easily positions itself between the SUV and the Coupé SUV .

exterior

The main feature of the exterior is the black panel that surrounds headlights and a front grille, delimited at the top by an optical fiber, which during the night creates an almost uninterrupted horizontal band of light between the daytime running lights.

In the case of Multibeam LED headlamps, they also have an interior in high-gloss black, together with blue stripes on a black background and Multibeam lettering also in blue.

Two engines with 408 hp of joint power

Equipped with two electric motors placed on the front and rear axles, it assumes itself as a 100% electric all-wheel-drive SUV. The two engines are configured to act simultaneously, with the aim of ensuring lower energy consumption and at the same time greater dynamism — the front electric motor has been optimized to provide the best possible efficiency, while the rear is intended to provide driving more dynamic.

Together, these two engines guarantee a power of 300 kW, around 408 hp, as well as a maximum torque of 765 Nm.

Mercedes-Benz EQC 2018

At the base of the Mercedes-Benz EQC, a lithium-ion battery with 80 kWh of power was installed. The brand advances a range of “more than 450 km” (NEDC cycle, provisional data), 5.1 seconds in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h and 180 km/h of electronically limited top speed.

Five driving modes with Eco Assist

Also helping with driving are five programs, each with different characteristics: Comfort, Eco, Max Range, Sport, in addition to an individually adaptable program.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC also received the Eco Assist system, which offers driver assistance, for example, alerting when it is appropriate to decelerate, displaying navigation data, recognizing traffic signs and providing information from intelligent safety assistants, such as of radars and cameras.

80% charge in 40 minutes… with 110 kWh

Finally, regarding the charging of batteries, the Mercedes-Benz EQC is equipped with an on-board charger (OBC) water-cooled, with a capacity of 7.4 kW and suitable for charging at home or in public charging stations.

Using a branded wallbox, loading becomes three times faster that through a household outlet, while charging DC outlets, recharging the batteries can be even faster.

In a socket with a maximum power of up to 110 kW, in an appropriate charging station, the Mercedes EQC can recharge between 10 and 80% of the battery capacity in about 40 minutes. However, these data are provisional.

Production starts in 2019

Production of the EQC starts in 2019 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen. The batteries will be produced at the expanded battery plant in Kamenz, a factory owned by the star brand.
