Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance guarantees savings of 5.7 billion

Currently formed by the manufacturers Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has just announced a saving of 5.7 billion euros over the last year, just thanks to the synergies achieved between the three manufacturers.

Holding, in its midst, not only the Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi brands, but several other emblems, such as Infiniti, Datsun, Dacia, Alpine, Renault-Samsung and AvtoVAZ, the Alliance, and the brands that comprise it, has taken advantage of the joint effort to develop new platforms, components and technologies. Charges that, otherwise, would represent an immeasurable financial effort, in the budget of a single builder.

At the same time, the brands also started to make purchases, financial and logistical operations together, achieving, in this way and in terms of quantity, more attractive prices.

The Alliance has had a direct and positive impact on the growth and profit of each of its members. In 2017 alone, the Alliance helped project the performance of the top three companies, including Mitsubishi Motors, which saw its first year of gains resulting from synergies

Carlos Goshn, Chairman of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance

Objective: 10 billion euros

It should be remembered that 2017 was the first full year after Mitsubishi's integration into the Alliance, which contributed to savings in the group's expenses, resulting from synergies, of around 14%, from five billion to 5.8 thousand millions of euros.

Meanwhile, the plans of Ghosn and the rest of the management team include savings in the order of 10 billion euros, until 2022, only as a result of synergies within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. A time when the group also expects to be producing around 14 million vehicles a year — in 2017, it sold more than 10.6 million vehicles, surpassing its rivals Toyota (10.5 million vehicles) and Volkswagen (10.3 million vehicles) millions).
