SEAT awards 1550 euros to workers

What is promised is owed. But SEAT even went beyond what it had agreed with its workers.

In the midst of a pandemic crisis caused by the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) and with the Martorell factory closed for the next few weeks, SEAT announced that its employees will receive a prize of 1550 euros next April.

An award that results from the benefits that the brand obtained during 2019. A year that, we will recall, was a huge success for the Spanish brand: record sales, bet on electrification, and preparation of a new model offensive — not just on four but also on two wheels.

SEAT goes further

Thanks to the good results in 2019, the Volkswagen Group's Spanish brand will award its workers a premium 45.1% higher than the 2018 premium, when they received 1068 euros.

These 1550 euros even exceed the maximum established between the administration and the workers' committee. The maximum ceiling established in the contract was 1300 euros, an amount that SEAT decided to surpass by 250 euros in recognition of the dedication of its entire team.

In 2019 SEAT achieved a record operating result of 445 million euros, a result 75% higher than 2018.

Speaking of the present, the year 2020 is not an easy year for any company in the automotive sector — indeed, for any company — however, we are certain that with examples like these, the crisis will be faster and less severe than many predict.
