Today we are going to take a tour through the history of Škoda through the Škoda Museum . The Czech brand, which has belonged to the Volkswagen Group since 1991, is one of the oldest in the automotive industry. It appeared in 1925 as a result of the merger of Laurin & Klement, founded in 1895, and Škoda Pilsen. The first of these companies already manufactured automobiles, although it started its activity through the production of bicycles.
After bicycles came racing motorcycles and the first automobile, Voiturette A, which was a great sales success. The first of many successes that even extended to competition.
In the 1970s, Škoda was known as the “Porsche of the East”. The extreme reliability and agility of the Škoda 130 RS model gave the Czech brand the taste of victory in the competitive European Touring Championship and the legendary Monte Carlo Rally.
