The Mercedes-Benz EQS has just been unveiled and, it seems, is already in the pipeline. Mercedes-AMG EQS , as these spy photos let you guess.
If you remember, in October of last year, Mercedes-AMG had announced that it was going to start developing electric models starting this year.
Information that was confirmed recently, when the Affalterbach brand revealed its plans to also electrify itself — either with electrics or plug-in hybrids — and that we were able to discuss with some of its officials.
What to expect?
Compared to “normal” EQS, this prototype features carbon-ceramic brakes and less ground clearance, together with aesthetic changes, here conveniently covered by the typical camouflage. The front bumpers seem to have a more aggressive look, there's a small spoiler at the back and the headlights seem to have still been dimmed.
Obviously, no data regarding the Mercedes-AMG EQS have yet been released, however, rumors point to impressive numbers.
According to them, the sports variant of the EQS should have more than 600 hp (some point to 670 hp) and, of course, all-wheel drive (courtesy of the fact that it has a front and a rear engine), with accelerations that should equal or even surpass those of the current AMG 63 models (those equipped with V8 engines).
In fact, if we look at the names patented by Mercedes-AMG — the designations “EQS 43” , “EQS 53” and “EQS 63” were registered — there is even the possibility that there will be several versions of the Mercedes-AMG EQS.
As for the expected date for the arrival of the sportiest of the EQS, this should see the light of day between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022.
