New Audi RS6 Avant: Family, fasten your seatbelts!

Anonim

We love it when Audi loses its mind. Here comes the new “Rocket” of the fathers of families in a hurry…

There are cars that make us want to laugh out loud just thinking about them. For example the Fiat Multipla. A car so ugly that even if Fiat had only sold one unit, it had already surpassed my best sales expectations. I only got into that car with a helmet on… Others, in turn, also make us laugh, but laughter of a different kind. The most shy ones with a little nervous. One of the cars that causes me this shy and nervous laugh is the Audi RS6. Laughter, because it's nonsense to equip a family van with a 580hp(!!) engine, and nervous because such power causes (a lot…) respect!

It looks like the Automobile Gods have heard our prayers and Audi will even launch a new Audi RS6. It's the madness with wheels: A family van, equipped with an engine that any supercar is the envy of, permanent four-wheel drive, racing seats, ceramic brakes and sports suspension! All this for what purpose?! Maybe get the kids to school on time; pass by the Estoril Autodromo in the meantime; and finally get to the office.

“The Audi R8 is for boys!”

The photos you see in this piece are from CarScoop, and it gives us first-hand what the new Audi family rocket looks like. We still don't know what kind of “nuclear power plant” we'll find under the hood of the new model… If an updated version of the already known 5000cc bi-turbo V10(!) with 580hp, if a new spicier version of our well-known V8 4000cc bi-turbo that equips the S6 and S8 models.

Whatever Audi has in store for a few lucky ones without economic concerns, we are sure that the new RS6 Avant will respect the brand's little nails when it comes to tar-eating vans: it will be apotheotic! It's been that way since 1992 when it launched the first RS2, and it looks like it's going to stay that way in 2013, when the new RS6 will be released.
