Alfa Romeo 4C. Renovation of the baby-supercar in 2018

Anonim

It was Roberto Fedeli himself, the engineering director at Alfa Romeo and Maserati, who confirmed it. The Alfa Romeo 4C will be overhauled in 2018, with new suspension and steering, as well as possibly a new engine.

Considering the areas of intervention noted by Fedeli, the criticism leveled at the Alfa Romeo 4C regarding its handling, dynamics and direction, did not pass by the Italian brand.

We are returning to Formula 1 and we need the 4C to be our halo car.

What to expect from 4C Magazine?

For those who don't know Roberto Fedeli, in his resume, or rather portfolio, we can find a certain Ferrari 458 Speciale, or the most recent and acclaimed Giulia Quadrifoglio. Expectations are therefore high.

It's Fedeli's goal to make the 4C everything it was originally meant to be — a baby Ferrari. And with new competitors like the recent and highly praised Alpine A110, the 4C is not going to have an easy life.

For the rest, the 4C must remain the same as itself: central carbon cell, aluminum front and rear frame, transverse engine placed behind the occupants. It will continue to be rear wheel drive and the transmission will continue to be automatic (dual clutch gearbox).

Even if the 1.75 liter four-cylinder is replaced with a new unit it's guaranteed to keep the turbo — perhaps the 2.0 liter of the Giulia Veloce?

When?

Estimates point to the revised Alfa Romeo 4C to be introduced in the fall of 2018, with the first units to be delivered in January 2019.
