MBUX Hyperscreen. Mercedes-Benz anticipates "giant screen" for EQS

Little by little the details of the new Mercedes-Benz EQS have been unveiled and now the Stuttgart brand raises the “tip of the veil” on the infotainment system with which it will equip it.

Designated MBUX Hyperscreen , this will be unveiled on January 7th, and will then be shown at the 2021 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which will run from January 11th to 14th in an exclusively digital format.

Promising to take “infotainment display and usability, comfort and vehicle functions to a new level thanks to artificial intelligence”, this new infotainment system will feature a curved screen that spans the entire width of the cabin. .

Mercedes-Benz EQS

Despite promising to be one of the most advanced infotainment systems available (and with one of the biggest screens), the MBUX Hyperscreen will only be available on the EQS as an option, and as standard, it should use a system identical to the S-Class, with a 12.8” OLED screen.

Already tested by us as a prototype, the Mercedes-Benz EQS will be the first model in a large “family” of trams.

Expected to arrive in the first half of 2021, it will be produced at the Sindelfingen factory in Germany. This will be followed, still in 2021, by the EQA and the EQB.

Although its final shapes have yet to be revealed, one thing is already certain: the EQS will feature an SUV variant. Expected to arrive in 2022, little is known about it, but it is more likely that it will become a kind of “electric GLS”.
